I have been listening to or attending or reading various experts on sales and other motivational aspects of a professional salesman's life since 1970. I fought internally for many years with various problems that I really didn't understand and there was really no one to diagnose them properly. I had issues with depression, ADD, bad choices of employment and various other factors that I didn't see interlinking in the manner in which they did as all being factors of one basic problem. Author McGinnis exposed many of these programs that I had been to for what they were worth which wasn't much. I was trying to deal with misinformation and transform it into a worthwhile effort of making a living as a commissioned salesman. While I well understand that this book was not written as an expose of bad sales training techniques from decades past, it does shed much light on those subjects by giving good information that illustrates, through use, the bad information that was obtained so long ago. I really wish that I had known what was in this book 30 years ago. If I had then it would have increased my income while saving me a lot of money on wasted seminars and books. Read it and enjoy it. It will enhance your life by demonstrating what true optimism through clear, untinted glasses really is.
