OK...I've been a huge fan of Gary and the boys in Pro-Pain from the start. I was a huge Crumbsuckers fan too! And don't forget Heavy Rain. I may be a bit biased being that I'm from Baldwin, NY and have known Gary since he was doing gigs in basements and the small dive bars around town.......but enough about that. I love every Pro-Pain album. They are one of those bands like Slayer, you always know it's them. As with all bands that have been going at it for a long time....some releases are stronger than others......ABSOLUTE POWER is Pro-Pain's strongest release in years and in my opinion possibly thier best....I've been listening to it non-stop at home & in my car.....I even put it on a cassette (remember those?) so that I could listen to it in my beat up old car. This disc seems to have taken the strongest moments from some of Pro-Pain's previous albums and put it together in one great package........it's a combo of old school heaviness & a slighty newer edged (can I say "progressive")elements make for a great listening experience. it seems as if they have "matured" a little more, as they seem to do on every release. Don't let that word "progressive" scare you away, Pro-Pain still bludgeon you with heaviness, Gary still sings with his raspy, in your face tone but with a new brutalness while providing his politcal commentary on current events. Absolute Power runs a little over 37 minutes....which I think is perfect. It's long enough to leave you satisfied, but short enough to leave you wanting more!(remember Slayer's Reign In Blood? that was 28 minutes of fury....and it made me wait like a salivating rabid dog for Slayer's next disc!) If you are a Pro-Pain fan, this is a no-brainer, you should have it already! If you don't, get in your [...] car, or on your bike, or skateboard, take a bus, call a cab or hitch-hike and go get it right now! For those who are not into Pro-Pain but do enjoy heavy music, this is a good starting point to enter the world of Pro-Pain. I hope this review is helpful to anyone who reads it!SUPPORT THE HEAVY-CORE!
