Update: Stupid me, I thought this actually was a Makita driver. I feel like a total sucker. But oh well, it’s only $50 dollars out of pocket for this crummy tool. I just found this out.I deleted my old review because I thought this unit was Makita but it’s not. This unit does have more torque than the brush version, and 3 speeds (all jerky at low RPM). The jerkiness makes this unit almost worthless, because you cannot smoothly accelerate. Nothing happens and then it just jumps into to some random higher rpm and mostly this causes the bit to jump off the screw.3 speeds all act the same, so going into low is not the cure. As a professional cabinet maker, I’m the veteran of tens of thousands of driven screws. So I do know what an impact driver can and should do. This does not do that. Can’t believe that I bought this piece of junk.
