Product Description

2014 solo release from the L.A.-based guitarist best known for his work with Madonna. Quite possibly his most introspective and timeless album yet, M.P.3: THE POWER OF THREE, Pt. 1 comes as the next step after his previous album, PAIN, LOVE & DESTINY, which was a full-out explosive Rock odyssey. On the first part of M.P.3: THE POWER OF THREE, the listener finds a fragile and exposed singer/songwriter baring confessional meanderings of his soul with just his impermeable, yet vulnerable voice and acoustic guitar, and his keen ability to fully engage with each listener in an intimate and revealing way. Through it's wall of sound production, which may call to mind T-Rex meets Ray LaMontagne meets Alice in Chains, Pittman has this time teamed up with Grammy Award winning Danish engineer Fleming Rasmussen, a versatile producer best known for engineering and co-producing Metallica's RIDE THE LIGHTNING and MASTER OF PUPPETS albums, as well as albums by Cat Stevens, Morbid Angel and Rainbow, complementing Pittman's equally versatile musical mastery.

This album is fantastic from start to finish. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I cannot understand some of the other reviews giving this album anything less than 5 stars. The songwriting is top notch, musicianship is tight, and there are some truly memorable rock/metal moments on here that are a rarity in much of todays music. I have only listened to this album 2X all the way through, but I was immediately hooked even after hearing the first 2-3 songs. Monte is not only an outstanding guitarist, but I love his vocals too! Sung in a clean style, they remind me somewhat of old Ozzy Black Sabbath era vocals. I must say I am hoping for big things for Monte and his crew after hearing this album. I met Monte in 2007 when he was touring with PRONG and he's also an extremely down to earth guy. If you want to know the true definition of a power trio, look no further than this album as a quintessential example!
